The Tennessee Association of RV Parks & Campgrounds (TNARVC) is a private, non-profit organization chartered by the State of Tennessee on September 12, 1979. Its mission is to represent the best interests of private RV parks and campgrounds across the state and to provide the camping public with the highest quality camping experience. TNARVC provides its members with the following programs and services: Membership:
Member Application PDF file - Must have Acrobat Reader Networking:When you attend a TNARVC meeting, make a phone call, exchange email messages, or visit another TNARVC campground, you have an opportunity to interact with your peers one-on-one and share common interests and concerns. You probably learn more about the campground business through this networking process than in any other way. And, you develop lifetime friendships and great referral sources. Education:At the annual Tennessee Campground Conference & Trade Show each year, TNARVC offers "nuts and bolts" workshops, "cracker barrel" discussion sessions, and Certified Park Operator (CPO) courses that are designed to help you do a better job of running your campground. You will also have an opportunity to do some shopping at the trade show. Next year's Conference will be held on November 28-30, 2007 at the River Plantation RV Park in Sevierville/Pigeon Forge. Camping Guide:Each year, TNARVC publishes the Tennessee RV/Camping Guide. It is distributed to the public via the state's welcome centers, rest areas, over 25 RV shows throughout the country, local chambers of commerce, TN Department of Tourist Development, and other strategic locations. In terms of new business from the camping public, TNARVC member campgrounds benefit greatly from this exposure. Members are entitled to a free listing in the Guide and the annual Tennessee Vacation Guide published by the state department of tourism. Internet Site:TNARVC provides its members with a free billboard listing on the Internet at www.campintennessee.com which is linked to www.gocampingamerica.com, the latter of which is now receiving over 500,000 user visits per month and is the preferred website for campers. The TNARVC website is also linked to the TN Department of Tourist Development website. Newsletter:TNARVC publishes a bimonthly newsletter which is sent to all members and campground suppliers. It contains feature articles and reports on the current activities of TNARVC and National ARVC. The newsletter is an excellent source of information on major issues affecting the campground industry, both at the state and national levels. An electronic newsletter is also sent to members. Legislation:Each year, legislation in the Tennessee General Assembly that relates to the RV park and campground industry is monitored by the Tennessee Tourism Roundtable of which TNARVC is an organizational member. The TNARVC membership is kept abreast of important legislative issues via the newsletter and legislative alerts. Through the efforts of members, state legislators are made aware of TNARVC positions on campground issues. Member Discounts:As a member of TNARVC and National ARVC, you are entitled to many revenue generating and expense reducing benefits. These include a 19% commission on long distance calls placed from your payphones, a credit card program with no annual fee and low interest rates, a 28% discount on John Deere equipment, discounts on music and video licensing, a 20% commission on prepaid phone cards, a 25% savings on propane expenses, and many more. The savings from these and other member benefits more than offset the cost of TNARVC/NARVC dues. National ARVC:National ARVC is the only organization representing the interests of all RV park and campground owners/operators in the country. It is actively engaged in lobbying and educating the members of Congress on regulatory and legislative issues affecting the campground industry. NARVC also provides its members with a monthly newsletter, annual convention and trade show, Certified Park Operator program, School of RV Park and Campground Management, and other services. Assistance and Advice:The TNARVC leadership and staff, along with over 60 of the finest RV parks in Tennessee, are available to share any information about campground management and operations.
