Cherokee Dam Campground is located in Jefferson City, TN, on the upstream south side of the TVA Cherokee Dam. Adjacent to the campground is Cherokee Lake where there is a large public boat ramp, a day use & swimming area with picnic tables and a pavilion. The pavilion may be reserved for a nominal fee, and is available first come when not reserved. The campground has a total of 44 camp sites, excluding the 5 primitive, all the sites have electric and water hook up with 4 sites meeting ADA guidelines. Most all of the campsites in the campground have beautiful lake and mountain views. The entry roads into the campground are paved and most campsites are level with gravel parking pads. Each campsite has a picnic table and fire pit/grill. The campground bathhouse has warm showers and flush toilets. An additional bathhouse is presently being installed and is expected to be in operation by summer 2015. A dump station is located in the campground at no charge for those who are camping. Recreational activities in the area are abundant. The campground location is approximately an hour’s drive to the popular tourist spots in the Smokey Mountains, Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, Townsend and Knoxville.
